Our fantastic volunteer planning committee is responsible for many of the details of the ride. If you are interested in joining the committee, please let us know by email at lateride@lateride.org. The group meets in the evening on the third Wednesday of the month between October and June. We plan details of the route, rest stop, logistics, police support, promotion and more!
Volunteers Needed!
We need both riding and non-riding volunteers before, during and after the ride. Please use the Volunteer Form to sign up as a volunteer! Volunteers pay only $25; Course Marshals pay only $20. And non-riding volunteers participate for free.
Office Help
We need help at Friends of the Parks’ office weekdays between 9am – 5pm. We’re located in downtown Chicago at 17 N. State Street, Suite 1450.
Community Service Hours
We need help from high school and college students needing to fulfill Community Service Hour requirements. We need help at our office during the week (Mondays-Fridays 9am-5pm), as well as at Warehouse Work Nights. We have a variety of projects and tasks perfect for students, everything from making and fielding phone calls to assembling rider goody bags and more.
Warehouse Work Nights
Volunteers help assemble rider goody bags and breakfast bags during five fun-filled “Warehouse Work Nights.” This year’s work nights take place June 22, 22, 23 and 24 and July 8 between 5-9pm.
Post-Ride Volunteer Thank You Party
To say thanks, Friends of the Parks will invite ride volunteers to a fun party aboard a Shoreline Sightseeing double-decker boat! The 2010 party date is Thursday, July 15.
